Twitter Fiction

One of the surprising things I have discovered on Twitter is the range of writing challenges that are hosted there. It’s been refreshing to be forced to think within the very restricting confines of 140 characters, and it has been a lot of fun to join in with some of these exercises.

In particular I like the way the format helps to concentrate your thoughts. I had never imagined that it would be possible to distil a story into such a few lines.

Here is a round up of some of my efforts. Some work, some don’t. I just thought it would be nice to gather them together.

If you fancy checking out some superb masters of the craft, take a look at the Twitter accounts of Stairs To The Abyss, Arden Tyne Kent or Frank Watson

They write some stunning little gems.
